By Public transport

From Schiphol Airport you could take a taxi to The Bridge Hotel (appr. 47,-- Euro) or you may take a train to the Central station of Amsterdam (3,10 Euro single; 5,50 Euro return or weekend return). Check the yellow departure schedules for times and platforms. The train will take you to Amsterdam Central Station in 30 minutes.

From the Central Station you could take a taxi to the Hotel (appr. 15,-- Euro) or you may take streetcar (tram) number 9. Get off the tram at Waterlooplein.
From the tram stop you walk back towards the big bridge. Before the bridge you turn left on the Amstel. After walking approximately 200 meters along the water you find The Bridge Hotel on your left hand side.

You could also take the metro; any of the three lines from the Central Station will take you to Weesperplein. From Weesperplein (not Waterlooplein) you walk up the stairs where you take exit Amstel. When you come out you walk straight on to the Amstel river. Before the big bridge you turn right. You walk 200 meters and the hotel is at your right hand side.

By Car

From the RIng highway around Amsterdam, the A10-Oost, you take exit number S112. At the end of this exit you turn left at the traffic lights. The name of this street is Gooiseweg. you go straight on to the end (roundabout/traffic lights) and when you see a sign "Center" yu turn right here. you go straight on. This street is the Wibautstraat. After the 3rd big traffic lights and before the bridge you turn left in to the Stadhouderskade and cross a large bridge. The first street you turn right and then at the end (the Frederiksplein=square) you turn right again in to the Sarphatistraat. Then when you have crossed the bridge you turn left and then you are on the Amstel. You will see the Carre theatre, the hotel will be next to the theatre.

Parking in Amsterdam

In Amsterdam there is a strict parking policy. If you would like to park your car in the streets remember paid parking is daily from 9.00 a.m. till 12.00 p.m. . Rates are high: expect to be paying approximately 4,00 per hour. Daytickets (9 am -7pm) are 24,-, Evening tickets (7 pm till 12 pm) are 15,-.
We recommend parking your car in a nearby secured parking facility such as Waterlooplein parking and Markenhoven parking. These parkings have an hourly rate of 4,00, and a daily rate of 47,-. Opening hours are from 7 am to 1 am.

In front of the hotel there is a small municipality port called “the Amstel Sluis”. Here you can rent an anchorage for your boat and maybe combine this with an overnight stay in our hotel. The next day you can make a beautiful cruise in and around Amsterdam.

From Amsterdam Central Station it is easy to make a trip outside of Amsterdam. You can easily visit a different city, like Haarlem or Delft, but also to the Zaanse Schans, the windmill park www.zaanseschans.nl.


Even your children can have fun in Amsterdam. How about a visit to the largest science center of Amsterdam, the NEMO, where your kids can discover the world in fun way. Or the Zoo Artis, were you can see all sorts of animals. Amsterdam has also an underground play garden Tun Fun, nearby the hotel. Here they will wear themselves out and you will be assured that they will have a good night sleep!


For those of you who love culture, there are beautiful and fascinating exhibitions in various museums. Besides all of our famous museums, like the van Gogh and the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam has a great number of exceptional museums. For example the Hermitage (5 minutes from the hotel), a founding of the Russian Hermitage located in a beautiful building.


During the summer time, there are many events going on. For example; Queens day, is a public holiday and party time for everyone! . At Liberation day there is a classical concert on the Amstel river.
